How to book a night train ticket from Helsinki to Rovaniemi?

We want to go to Rovaniemi for Christmas, and our plan is to take the night train from Helsinki to Rovaniemi.

I checked the website "http://www.vr.fi/heo/eng/lapin_matkat/f... it says "For travel in a sleeping-car of a night train, a regional-train travel ticket and a sleeping-berth ticket are needed. " But what is a regional-train travel ticket? I can't find the night train at their " VR journey search".

Anybody can help?

Put into yahoo search VR. This gives you the hompage of finnish rail. Then go on the lefthand side to Lappland Journeys. There you will find all needed information plus a link to book the train, either in a sleeper or in a day time car.

The long distance tickets are valid on local trains, but the local tickets not in long distance trains.

In the section "My Timetable" I found three connections (for 20th Dec) to Rovaniemi leaving Helsinki at 07.30 am, changing trains in Oulu, arrivin Rovaniemi at 16.29, next leaving Helswink at 10.06 am, changing trains in Oulu, arriving Rovaniemi at 19.46 (7.46 pm), and without changing trains leaving Helsinki at 13.06 arriving  at 22.44.

You can put in at the same time your wanted return date and time leaving Rovaniemi.
