My husband and I are travelling to Vietnam in July 2007 . Dalat is on our agenda. How long does the bus take, and where would the best place be to book from. We will be leaving from HCMC.

  1. Go to the Sinh cafe, they were there when I lived in Saigon 13 years ago. here's a url for their travel page, but they do a lot more

  2. Dalat is the place for honeymoon, a quiet place, if you like quiet place you can stay here a few days, try it

  3. Just ask at the hotel, they'll give you the name of one of the local bus companies. There are lots of buses every day from HCMC to Dalat.

Think carefully about Dalat. I went there and didn't enjoy it. It was the worst part of my Vietnam trip - very, very boring.

  4. Ong Jon has it right.  There are so many other great places in Vietnam to use your time than in Dalat.  Up and down the coast is so many beautiful places to visit.  Only the the weather is cooler in Dalat in the summer.  We honeymooned there and I wouldn't pick it again.  good luck, cheers.

  5. "tony b" has it right: for simplicity just get your hotel desk to do it. to save a little money go to any travel agency yourself on "de tham street" [ easy to find ,ask anybody]. to save even more money go to the local bus station [ just ask anybody].   but it's much more comfortable , faster and safer to pay extra and go w/ "sinh cafe" , "kim tours", or "tm brothers" [ found on de tham street or yor hotel desk] cant be more than $10-$15 and 4-6 hr ride... ps. da lat sucks... except for the weather.
