register yourself

select the originating station and the destination from plan my travel menu.

see availability and click book ticket.

enter passenger details

select payment method

pay

print out the ticket

you should have at least one of thease : pasport;voter id card ;pan card ;driving liscence.

To book tickets online, you need to create an account first with IRCTC Website.

After you have created your account, please log in and click on "Plan my travel" Link on the left side navigation.

After this, please select the starting, ending, date of journey, class , quota, i-ticket or eticket option and press submit.

The list of trains comes at the bottom of the page .

Select your train and click on book ticket, you need to enter the passenger details and the id details like voted id card, pan card, Drivers licence or some other govt. id to book the ticket.

proceed to payment, make payment and you have the ticket reserved. Take a print out of the ticket, carry the id mentioned in the ticket and voila wish you a happy journey
