How to book seats when flight is close?

I need two seats on the flight and the system shows it close and the seats are very iportant for that day to fly on the same flight. is there anyone who can tell me the problem of solution.

u may have to pay more $$ but chances are there is at least one flight with availability. which cities?  the more major your city the easier it should be.  

orbitz lets u book flights and the like until almost that calendar day!!!!!  alot longer and last minute than most travel websites!

When it is not available online, you may try the following:

1) Go to a travel agency. They might be able to request a seat for you or suggest something. Usually, business class or first class seats are still available. It costs more but, hey, you got your seats.

1) Go to the airline office and request the seats that you need. Usually they have reserved seats that cannot be booked online. However, it might cost you more.

2) Try your luck being a chance passenger. This is quite risky but if you are desperately in need to be in that plane, you can pray and try this one.

3) There might be other flights either offered by the same airline or by a different airline whose schedule is close to the schedule that you want. Try another schedule or airline.

I'm not sure...but are you asking how to by tickets for a flight that is sold out???  If that is the case, your only option (which is not guaranteed) is to buy a ticket for a later flight for the same day...and same cities and go standby on the flight you want. With the Security changes that have been made since 9/11 you can no longer go to the airport and standby for a flight without a ticket.  You must be ticketed for the exact day to be able to pass through security.  Most airlines sell seats in bulk to travel agencies, so if the airline says the flight is sold out you may have a chance with an agency.  If the agency also says the flight is sold out, your only other choice may be to look for alternate airports to fly in and out of or change your travel date. If you call an agency, they at least have the option to check all airlines for you.
