  1. disable all start up programs by..

    1. go to RUN command type MSCONFIG

    2. go to STARTUP tab then click DISABLE ALL

then you'll be prompted to restart the computer

    thats it...

  2. certification-

  3. basic problem is that as you install items or spyware slips in they make themselves essential startup items when most  - even the legitimate programs are not

    1)  go into your bios - change the startup  order to boot from the hard drive first - as opposed to diskette ( if you have one) or cd

do not worry you cannot do too much damage - at the worst go back into bios and return to factory defaults

if you do not know what you are doing -  choose optimal settings

    remember to save before exiting

    2) go through your startup list

you can go start > run > msconfig

only when you boot up it will tell you that it has changed

    Here is a free program

google any items that you are unsure of

someone else will have asked the same questions

    run spyware scans

    remove all they find

if your drive is more than 75% full you might want to clean it up and remove uneccessary programs

defrag if you need it as well

  4. All you need is more RAM (memory) just be sure to find the one suitable for your computer and learn how much RAM your computer can hold it's cheap for a do it yourself job but if you just feel like having someone else do it don't be surprised if they try to hurt your pockets

  5. Try to reduce the number of programs that runs at start-up. They cause slowdown since they consume CPU and RAM at start-up. You can turn them off at Control Panel (Windows)

  6. in the search thing in the start menu type msconfig click startup and declick programs that u can click open urself like aim, photo software. u should only have programs clicked that are needed 2 start ur pc. all others just slow it down.
