You have to hold your fore and middle fingers on the seam of the ball. You have to slightly hold the seem facing the leg stump. Pitch the ball on the off stump at good length. If you want the batsman to give a catch pitch the ball so that it bounces to the waist height of the batsman. If you bowl a bouncer in this position the batsman will try to hook or pull as a result there may be a catch on the square leg position or at the short midwicket position.
