Now, I know (or think) that you can't get addicted to the gum... but I think I am addicted to the acual chewing of the gum... I estimated the amount of money I spent on gum in the last 30 days and it's at least £22 - which is definitaly not normal, I have ran out of gum at the moment and it seems to be all I can think of! (this will look so stupid I imagine)

any tips to stop this habit?

  1. yea just stop chewing it everyday and once in a while

  2. Stop buying it.

  3. Hmm, that's a tough one.  Gum gives me a stomach ache, so if I chew it at all, it's back in its wrapper and in the trash can within 10 minutes.  However, another reason I don't like to chew gum is because I don't like to watch other people chewing it.  Really, just take a good look at yourself in the mirror while you're chewing a stick of gum, and recognize everyone else's view of you while you're chawing away at it.  It's not a pretty picture.  It also affects your speech.  Not quite as bad as a tongue piercing, but close.

  4. I used to have the same problem--I was having jaw problems and had to quit chewing gum. Now, I'll have an occasional piece.

If you don't want to quit cold turkey, start chewing gum during only school or work hours. Then, cut it down to like after your lunch break or something for a few hours and then spit it out. Then, you'll get to the point where you'll occasionally think about it. Good luck. It's not easy!

  5. start smoking  just kidding, be glad your not addicted to something that damages your body.

as for tips bite your lip a few times
