  1. breathe in your nose and exhale from your mouth

  2. The whole "in through nose and out mouth thing" doesn't really help.  what u need to do is belly breathe.  yeah i know that sounds weird but the key is so when you breathe you inflate your stomach and not your chest.  this will prevent a lot of cramps.  it will take a while to develope the habit but it is a good one

  3. well it helps to breath through your nose but it depends on how hard your running.  if its a really easy run breath through your nose.  and if your running faster breath through your mouth but don't have your mouth completely open. have it slightly open.

  4. i think ur supposed to breathe in through you nose and out throught your mouth but most people just breathe through their mouth

  5. in through your mouth and out through your mouth you need to get as much oxygen to your muscles as possible  ----- at last the guy above me is talking some sense he knows what he is talking about

  6. I recommend not thinking about it. Breath naturally. Because whenever i start paying attention to my breathing it usually ends up in a devastating cramp.

It should be in through your nose and out through your mouth.

If you want to get technical its in for 2 foot falls and out for 4.

on a long run you shouldnt be exhausting yourself either so it should be nice and relaxed. Deep even breaths.

    hope that helps

  7. you really shouldn't breathe through your nose while you are running. even if you are running slow you aren't getting enough oxygen to you lungs. the more air the better. there is something called your VO2 max which is the maximum amount of oxygen a person can transport to their lungs during exercise. if you breathe through your nose your VO2 max would be really low because you wouldn't be breathing in the maximum amount of oxygen into your lungs. if you breathe through your mouth you can get as much oxygen as you can into your lungs making it easier to breathe during exercise and making your VO2 max higher. you want to have a high VO2 max. when you breathe you should be breathing with your stomach and not your shoulders. if you are moving your shoulders up and down every time you breathe you are wasting energy. you should breathe naturally but if you are doing any of the things that i said were bad above you should change that as much as you can.

    hope this helped :)
