How to breed my black convicts?

4 days ago i bought a male and female convict about 1.5 - 2 inches long. i put them in a 40 gallon tank with only 2 other plecos. the male convict seems to be uninterested of

the female. he seems to be more territorial and every time the female comes near him he seems to scare her away and then returns to his "territory". the water temp is 78 degrees and the ph level is 7.4. in order to get these cichlids to breed what will i have to do?

Black Convicts breed like rabbits and once when your pair starts to mate you are going to have tons of babies.

Black Convicts = Guppies when it comes to mating, they breed like crazy. Add 2 more females, to decrease tension and harm to the main female.
