I have a bonded pair doing all the displays and mating ( i think) they have a large nest box in there cage and they have the run of my living room for 7 to 9 hrs a day there on a varyed and balanced diet and they also have 17 diffrent birds let out at the same time in my living room ( 5budgies,2 red rumps,2 ring necks,3 cockatiels, princess parrarot ,galah, turtle dove, green cheek)

They all get along and there all supervised at all times when there out

the rainbows are alittle edgy they scream at the budgies if they get to close to there cage but not offen .

is there any thing I am doing wrong here they do spend alot of time in the nest box together.

ps . there over 3 .5 years old

  1. They need to spend more time together (just the two), so they can bond more, but if interfered with it might make them like other birds more then each other. Everything your doing seems right, but is the nest box deep enough? they tend to like deeper nest boxes about 35cm deep and the access hole  might not be big enought.

    Hope this helps.
