  1. in Filter > Mpeg Decoder. My guess is that Mpeg decoding isn't enabled in MPC and is getting taken over by ffdshow or whatever, or you're playing something besides MPEG-1/2, which means you'd have to do it through the filter anyway.

    Use ffdshow and use its levels or picture properties tabs. Most other codecs don't let you configure anything
