  1. As Spanishpika mentioned, the rate you see with the * ... the * says the price is per person...

Obviously how many days is the primary difference in cost. A 3-4 day will be a lot less than a 7-day.

There are lots of ways to make cruising less expensive. An inside cabin is MUCH cheaper. Carnival even has a few really cheap bunk-bed cabins on many of their ships.

Where you go is also a consideration. Western Caribbean tends to be far cheaper than Southern or Eastern. and some Mexican cruises can be pretty inexpensive.

Sailing out of certain ports can be cheaper (my guess is that airfare is higher to these places). Try New Orleans, Jacksonville, Memphis and Houston.

And the time of year is important. Summer is most expensive; fall (specifically Sept/early Oct) is cheapest as it's hurricane season. That's my favorite time to cruise - it's cheaper and the kids are back in school ;-)!

    Have fun!

(Forgot to mention - major holidays are also very expensive)

  2. Pick out a room category and make a "guarantee room selection".

This means that you are not assigned a room until you get on the ship. You always get the category you paid for or something above that , but they choose the room.It is a lot less expensive.

If you travel alone, you will be charged extra.

There are places that match people up who travel alone. Take some time and find these sites. You can always ask a travel agent if they know about the sites. You'll save and make a new friend.

    Have a great time.

  3. no you cannot split the cost, sorry the cruise is  charged per person only.

  4. Well all cruises expect you to take someone along otherwise they charge you more for having just one person in a cabin. So find a travel partner and find a nice cruise. Don't forget though that there will be port fees, shore excursions are not included, soda pop and alcohol is not included but a majority of other things are. What area did you want to go to? The carribbean is probably one of the cheaper areas to go to.

  5. u will really like it. its cheaper to

    - get it w/ a travel agent

    - get days that r'nt populer (christmas, tksgiving, etc.)

    - split it w/ a freind

    - also note that on a cruise u dont have to pay 4 ANYTHING, just tips (wich r'nt expected) and acohol

    anyways its really good

  6. All room prices are double occupancy.  As a general rule, Carnival is the cheapest cruise line.  However, they still offer great food and serviced.  Three of four day cruises are cheaper, but the per day price can be almost twice as much as a longer cruise. Pick an off season.  We always go in September.  We have a 7 day booked this year that we got real cheap.   Under $1400 for four people.  Booked almost a year ago.  Don't buy alcohol on the ship.  Don't go to the casino.  All of your food is included, as well as the shows.  We do not shop on the ship.

  7. This isn't necessarily the best way to go to prime spots around the globe, but if you want to get a good deal, wait until a few days before a cruise is set to sail. Call (yes, call and talk to a person, don't use the internet) the cruise company and they will always cut you a huge deal if it is in the last few days and the cruise is not full. If it is full, you are out of luck, but if there is availability, and depending on the amount of space available, you can get very much lowered rates. The reason for this is that they would rather give you an open room for a lowered rate rather than just leave it open. Even if they lose money on the room by selling it to you at a cheaper rate, its still better than letting it go unoccupied.
