How to build a cheap solar panel?

And you want to build it yourself? Not a chance, I looked into it.

You can make something wind powered, water powered if you have the use of a river or (what I did myself) connect generators to a cyclette to power up 10 X 24volts truck batteries.

I did it for fun but it produces a lot, pedalling very little. I have 6 X 24 volt truck generators hooked to it and it pedals very light, I produce more power than I consume, right now I have air conditioner and computer on it and a few lights.

The most difficult thing to do was the gearing, using washing machine belts, I had to make a few bits on the lathe and I am not too good on the lathe but I learned in the end.

Batteries can be got from the breakers'yard together with the gennies (the most expensive parts). But I am getting them in stages. I plan to have 12 of them by the time I am finished, they are light to run and produce a lot if you get the gearing right.
