How to build a column cover?

Question

Hi, I have 3 porch columns that right now are nothing but studs. I'd like to build covers for them (I can't afford fiberglass ones) so they look like real columns. Does anyone know of a website were they show you how to do this. I thought I'd do it with some good wood, moldings and a very, very good exterior paint job.
