Question:

How to build a crib with missing hardware (bushing)?

The crib we received (hand-me-down) is missing what I think is called a threaded bushing. See pictures on this website: http://www.productsamerica.com/inbucn.html. The crib was made by Ragazzi before they went out of business, so there is no way for us to get a backup hardware kit or even a manual to find out the exact specifications of the piece. How would you go about putting together the crib without this missing piece? Are there any other solutions which might be available at a local hardware store? All my husband can suggest is filling the hole with epoxy (hopefully not interfering with an of the features) and then trashing the crib once we're done with it. Any suggestions? Please help an emotional pregnant lady to not scream and cry at her husband today!

  1. If that threaded bushing and s***w are just holding the side on, you should be able get a long pan head wood s***w and a washer and s***w the side on.

  2. the link doesnt show

put it together minus whatever is missing, then use some ingenuity and a few visits to ACE hardware...you can do most anything with some ingenuity.
