How to build pergola?

if pergola one side adhere with house, how to attached the 2 x 6 board against house wall for hold the beam , what kind s***w should i use?

Use lag bolts,be sure to hit a stud,and be sure to predrill your holes so wood wont split.

If I were doing it, I would use lag screws and try to go through the siding into the framing.

if you are attaching to a stucco wall you need lags that are at least 4  1/2 inches long.  And you have to make sure and find the studs first.  If you have wood siding on your house 3 1/2 lags should do, but you still need to make sure you hit the studs.  They are supposed to be 16 inches on center but you can't really count on that.
