  1. you have to push yourself plain and simple

it depends on how much you really want it

what i do is i try to make every lap the same

    or faster than my last

also forget about the other swimmers

  2. Have some private swimming lessons with a good coach.

  3. swim as long as you can for as fast as you can. target different areas of swimming such as just yours legs, arms, flipturns, starts, etc. swim as much as possible. NEVER GIVE UP!!!

  4. I was an olypmic swimmer some 20 years ago. The more you practise the more you get better. We used to train on a daily basis two times a day for some 3 to 4 hours every time. Good luck

  5. swim laps, the more laps the better swimmer you become. i know this sounds like a bunch of c**p but its not. more laps= better, faster, stronger.

  6. Do you swim training aides?

Swim fins, gloves with the slip in weights for shoulder building?

    foam leg buoys?

Those increase resistance to your normal strokes, and the results is muscle building.  Ask your coach if your program  has one. I do not want to alter his workout if he is not for that.  But Speedo makes all that gear.

good luck.  My Daughter uses that.  She swims year round for the York Swim Club In the D. C. area.

  7. WORKOUT, OR RUN, ETC.

    BUT SWIMMERS DON'T WANT TO

BE MUSCULAR, YOU WANT TO BE LEAN.

    ;D
