How to build up you chest muscles (pecks)?

Ok... well I am in the 11th grade and I am trying to work on my chest muscles. I have been in weightlifting since the 8th grade, lifting 3 times a week and have gotten my bench max up to 200 (what a great day that was lol) and my incline max is 165, but I have very little in the way of pecks, so I'm wondering what can I do to really work those out?

I would like variants of push-ups because I do not have any sort of weight equipment at the house. I know I will have to do a lot, but is there a good workout of pushups. I know about the elevated push-ups, hands in close, hands out wide, normal pushups. Is there a good way to build up the pecks doing a number of these a day?

All help would be appreciated.

  1. Pushups are not going to build your pecs up, lifting will.  Bench press is best, make sure that you are eating plenty of protein (about 1gram for every pound of your weight), make sure your giving your body plenty of rest between lifting sessions.

  2. i had the same problem...when benching make sure u do a set of wide benching with ur hands exteneded as far as u can apart...start out light

  3. ask a trainer how to do butterflys. those will rip your rest into shape

  4. peck deck?

  5. pushups, situps, running, swiming
