  1. in New Zealand on good fertile land dairy farmers use on average 1 cow per acre, more if they intend to use hard feed and or buy in feed rather than growing their own winter feed. Plus impliments and milking shed.

    Mate you have picked a hard way to do it. Sugest if it is only a small holding some type of cash crop would be better such as fruit trees of veges you can sell at the gate. Would not need any where near the capital outlay that even a small dairy holding would require
