How to burn body fat?

I am 15 years old, 140 pounds, and about 6 foot. I have an approximated body fat percentage at 14%. I Want to get that to be closer to 8%, so I can run longer and be healthier. I know that 14% is good, but I just want to be less. What are some ways that I can lose fat? Not just weight, but actual fat?

Also: I plan on running for about 30 minutes every day, at around 6-8 miles per hour on my treadmill. I don't eat breakfast, and usually only drink one soda a day, and only have one snack outside of lunch and dinner

If you are looking to loose fat and create muscle instead it sounds like you are on the right track.  Just a couple of pointers.  Running for 30 minutes is fine, just not everyday.  You want to shock your muscles so that they need to work harder and therefore, turn to fat as a source of energy.  You can do this by cross-training, like alternating from running to swimming, the elliptical, jump rope... etc.  You can also do some weight lifting, but not too heavy.  At 15 yrs old you could damage your body's connective tissue and have really horrible side effects later.  So keep the weights light.

    Also, you should be eating a breakfast.  The best way to boost your metabolism is by making sure it has plenty of energy through out the day.  This means eating six small meals a day, including one about an hour before going to bed.  This last meal keeps your metabolism up throughout the night as well.  

    Soda isn't a good idea for breakfast.  I would switch that out with a banana, two pieces of toast with some organic peanut butter... and you're good to go!!

  6. well first of all, your not eating enough. Your 15 so u might not know alot about fitness, trust me when i say this...im a former competitive bodybuilder and personal trainer. if you want to lose weight, you need to eat more. when you eat more and stay active, your body realizes that its getting more fuel. because of this increase in fuel, your body will naturally increase its metabolism so u burn more fat as fuel. combine that with an active lifestyle and ur burning calories left and right. visit my site for more fitness info, exercises, tips, articles...oh and with ur height and weight, u should be lifting. 140lbs at 6 foot is really skinny. even though ur bodyfat is 14, change that into more muscle.

  7. First off you have to change your diet.  You don't have a diet of food, so your body is globing onto what fat you do have thinking you are starving it, which by the way you are!

    At your age you should deprive yourself of any good foods. You do need to get off the soda.  It contains High Fructose Corn Syrup which puts on fat.

    Also by not eating breakfast that is making your body gain weight because breakfast jump starts your metabolism for the day and gets rid of foods digested.

    At 6' tall don't worry about your weight.  Just exercise like you are right now and eat regular meals, not junk food or prepackaged foods,  

    Learn to cook.  My husband makes our bread and its the best.  I can't buy bread as good as his and it doesn't take long.

    Lifting weights will burn fat, but you seriously need to eat good food before doing that.

    No hot dogs, soda, prepackaged foods, cookies unless you make them, this is where people go wrong.  They think they can't have those goodies,  Yes you can!  you just have to make them from scratch.  The only thing I eat out of a can is pork and beans, tuna, fruit in its own juice, but mostly I buy fresh fruits.  I stock up on canned foods here because we live in hurricane territory.
