How to burn disks on sony dcr-sr45 camcorder?

When I bought this camcorder, the salesman told me all I had to do was push the 'burn disk' button and it would automatically burn the disk. I dont think so. The owners manual does not say a thing about how to burn disks. Do I have to import the movies first then burn the disk or what? In my opinion, the owners manual severely lacks the needed info to do things outside of just recording movies. The quality of the movies is great, learning how to delete the movies off the hd or how to burn a disk has been a royal pain! Can anyone tell me how to do this stuff?

The "Burn Disk" button works with your computer - you'll need to install the software on the CD that came with the camcorder.
