Hi. I have a problem of burn the DVD with bootable. But i can't. I tried with nero but not success. I download a 50000 Universal XP Drivers.uif (1.79 GB) of file format. I tried to burn the DVD bootable with MagicISO. I don’t know how to write the DVD in bootable format. Because I think the bootable DVD only is to select the right drivers for right OS at the time of reinstalling OS. I guess that when installing the driver of OS, if the bootable dvd/cd disc itself only to find the correct driver for the right OS. Is this correct? Or please help me to burn the dvd/cd with bootable.

Thanks

  1. Hi Asfiya

Using nero wont help. uif format is magicISO's proprietary  disc image format.Nothing great about it just compresses the disc image a bit.

Just open it with magicISO and see if it is bootable or non-bootable.(It always shows----Upper left side....approx)

or convert it to an iso image using magicISO and use microsoft virtual pc or vmware to see if its bootable.(google it)

I am quite sure that the image you downloaded is not a bootable disc image.

Coz you know wat...I've never seen a bootable driver CD/DVD.

Drivers have to be installed after/while installing an Operating system. And the disc you burned with magic ISO should be perfect unless you want a non bootable disc to boot.Use the driver DVD after installing  a fresh copy of XP.As for correct drivers all you have to do is to know your hardware details, find the drivers in the dvd.Install.

And ya man this virtual machines can help you to know if a disc is bootable or not.You won't end up wasting cd/dvds

    Amaan
