  1. id buy it with money.

  2. know his height and weight and use the size chart listed on the wetsuit tags. If he is too small for the mens small, you may need to take him to the shop to try suits on.

  3. He is going to have to try it on....My boyfriend bought me one and luckily it fit but otherwise I would have had to return it.....I guess go with your gut and exchange if it doesnt work out

  4. if you go to a ship they have fitting charts, they are online as well, but there is really no substitute to trying it on. when you do try it on you have to make sure it fits tightly, even if your kid complains(it will loosen in the water). about 90 percent of the kids i ever see have suits that are way too big, which is effectively pointless becasue all the water just goes right through the suit.

  5. go to a surf shop and ask one of the workers. they will know exactly what to do

  6. Go to a brand site, I reccomend ripcurl, theyre the best around, their suits are excellent and so is their warranties and customer service. On their site they also have a sizing chart for their suits which goes by height and weight which are typically pretty accurate.

  7. There's really no way around him having to try it on. Wetsuits need to fit snugly. All manufacturer's suits fit differently. Take him to a surf shop to make sure you get the right type, thickness, length, and fit.

  8. There is no way to buy a wetsuit and get a decent fit without trying it on. Even though almost all wetsuits are 'sized' the same way, there are variations from manufacturer to manufacturer. Wet suits, like bathing suits, are  no return items, so they have to be right the first time.

If you go to a couple surf shops, he  tries on wet suits, you can find out what size is right, and return later and buy the suit of choice, if it is to be some sort of 'gift'. Otherwise, just go to a good local surf shop and try 'em on and the buy the one he likes. The folks in the surf shop will give you the right advice and information. They are professionals in the surfing industry, not folks on line.

  9. If he doesnt try it on then i wouldnt get your hopes up that it fits.If he is really into surfing get bodyglove they keep you warm.
