Question:

How to buy valid postage stamps from Peru... when you don't live there?

A friend of mine is going to Peru (from New Zealand) for a holiday. I'd like to give her, as a going away present, some pre-stamped postcards, so that she doesn't have to look for a post office all the time when she's there. It costs 5 soles to send a postcard from Peru to NZ.

  1. Here is a book for you. How to make money selling stamps and you will learn a lot of non conventional ways.

Try it before buying stamps at the P.O. You may learn a lot just by the sales page...

Good luck with your collection or business

  2. Just go to the post office.

  3. Let me enlighten you about our (peruvian) post office. Here we don't have slot machines that dispense air mail stamps and public mail boxes. Instead there's a Post Office in every neighborhood and if your friend has to go there to drop the postcard, why bother to get it with a postage stamp in advance if she still has to go to the same place were she buys the stamps to send it?

A better going away present would be a Lonely Planet book about PERU.

  4. LOL Yeah we don't have mail boxes but she doesn't have to look for a post office, she can send a postcard from any convenience store like Wong (like Waitrose but better!) and so on.
