  1. There are long formulas, but I use CV = It

    V is peak-peak ripple allowed, i = 8ms for full wave, 16ms for half wave (60Hz), I is load current.

    So for full wave, 1 volt ripple, 1 amp load

    C = 8ms*1/1 = 8mF, use 10000uF
