  1. P.F = (Power in watts)/(1.732xVoltagexCurrent)

  2. To calculate power factor use one of the following power formulae :-

    Power is in Watts, voltage in Volts & current is in Amps

    (Single phase load) Power = Volts x Current x Power factor

    Re-arrange the formula

    PF = Power divided by ( Volts X Current) = Watts/(Volts x Amps)

    (3 phase load) Power = 1.7321 x Line Voltage x Line Current x PF

    Re-arrange the formula

    PF = Power divided by (1.7321 x VL x IL )

    Vl =  line voltage or voltage between phases

    IL = line current or current per phase

    PF = Watts/(1,7321 x VL x IL)

    1.7321 is the square root of 3

    With the formula being  Power = root3 x VL x IL x PF

    Sorry cannot find the Sqrt symbol
