How to call Carramar Australia from the U.S.A.?

Please help me, I would like to call a long lost friend from 40 years ago, and I just got her number from her siblings when i went back to my country. I tried and tried to dial what they gave me, it doesn't connect. I don't know what else to do or if I'm dialing it wrong. The number given to me was 87242363.

I dialed 011 61 2 87242363.

The number you are dialling has the correct numbers to get to Sydney, of which Carramar is a suburb.   (You drop the 0 from the area code).  Are you sure that 011 is the correct international access code (although it is what I use when in the USA)?

You could check our White Pages http://www.whitepages.com.au/wp/initResS... and see if the number is listed.  You could also try 9724 instead of 8724.  Sydney numbers were changed by adding a 9 to the front a few years ago, although many numbers now start with 8.

heres the problem.. Carramar is in Sydney yes? I know because I live close.. So yeah.. the number is wrong.. It should be a 9 instead of an 8. All phone numbers in Sydney start with a 9
