I need to call a number that is posted in the internet as +49 30 (and 8 digits number here). What does + mean before the number 49? Do I need to dial 011 or any other number before 49?

  1. you dial 011 49 then areacode without the 0

  2. By ISD!!.....

  3. dial 011 then the country code 49 along with the rest of the number

  4. you have to add "011" before the 49.

    011 = international line

    49 = Germany

    the next numbers (3-5) are the town (631=Kaiserslautern)

    the last numbers are the individual phone

    So, you number should look like this:  011-49-631-xxxxxx

  5. + signifies that the number set right after it is the country code of the telephone number.  To dial that number you will have to enter first whatever number it is to signify you are dialing internationally, which for the USA is 011.

    +49 30 ........

    011 49 30 .....

    A US phone number is +1 Area Code Telephone number

    From Germany I would dial 00 1 Area Code ....

    In Germany to dial another country it is 00

  6. Exactly as you said. The + is the number combination

    you have to dial to get into int. dialing. It's usually substituted

    with + because it's different all over the place. For the US

    it's 011. So just replace + with 011 and you're set to go.

  7. You need to dial the US country code first which is 011 and then the German country code 0049 (the + stands for 00).

  8. you must call 011 for europe, and 49 for germany...

    so you must call like that: 0114930...

  9. you dont have to add +..just dial the remaining number and it will do

  10. +49 is like 011 for the US, +49 means 0049 and you'll have to dial it.

  11. +49 is the cell phone way of putting the german international dial code.

    If you are dialling from a standard telephone, the + is basically double zero so dial 0049.

  12. You would need to dial 011 49 30 (eight digit number)

    THis is from many years experience living in the US and dialling overseas numbers....

    some of the above answers are true for different countries, but this is correct for dialing from the US

  13. 49 is Germany's country code. When dialing out of the US, dial 011 for an international call, then 49 for Germany, then the rest of the number.

    Also, if you need a good calling card, Sam's Club has the best rate. At least that's what I've found.

  14. you will have to dial 011 - to dial out of the USA, then 49 - for Germany and then the number. However, all the numbers in Germany start with a Zero for example 0731 - that would be like our area code. When you call Germany do not dial the Zero - skip it all together. Good luck

  15. to call Germany from the US you would dial 011 (the international access code) 49 30 and the rest of the number. The + means that in whatever country you are calling from, you have to dial something, then the 49 etc. Remember the 6-9 hour time difference!
