i always call the UK are South Africa both are 011- for the country code, then there's like a 12 digit phone number.

be careful its  sometime 3-5 dollars a min when you make those calls without a good long distance carrier.

you have to know the country code, and the person overseas will not know what this is...try calling the operator, or doing a search for long distance country codes.

typically what you will do is drop the first 0 or 1 the person gives you and add the country code instead.
