How to call the states from Germany?

I want to call my friend in the States because I am here in Germnay, but i dont know how?!

It's 00 for the access code and 1 for the US

So call 00 1 (and then the rest of the number which you have been given)

You can still call for free if you use www.peterzahlt.de. I used it a lot until the end of 2006 when my best friend came back from the US.
