  1. Neuter your dog!

ADD-- CKC IS A BOGUS REGISTRY! IT MEANS NOTHING UNLESS ITS CANADIAN. CONTINENTAL IS NOT A LEGIT REGISTRY. DO YOU PLAN ON GETTING YOUR DOG'S HIPS TESTED AT 2 YEARS OLD? HIS EYES?

  2. You really shouldn't have provided that last comment about your intentions to breed him.  It really is the icing on the cake, wouldn't you say?!

I was going to provide you with a few suggestions but changed my mind when I read the Additional Details.

AFAIC you should suffer with your dogs spastic behavior.  At this point even if you do decide to do the responsible thing and alter the dog you will probably be dealing with the kind of behavior every time he encounters a bi*ch in season.

Yeah, right, "cute puppies".  Like those pups at the humane society aren't cute or something.

Do you know how long she's been in season?

Week two and the boy isn't going to be listening to you.  The brains don't seem to function and any obstacle that is between him and that girl can easily be crossed.  Six foot walls, bedroom doors, crates, fences - they're easily scaled/destroyed to create a clear path to the girl.

  3. If your not going to mate him get him fixed. You won't have that problem and he will calm down also.

  4. NEUTER.......Having him neutered will end his eagerness.  He is QUITE old enough to be neutered, and the sooner you do, the easier it will be on him.  The longer you wait, the harder it will be on him.

Also, neutering and spaying helps to deter the chances of getting cancer......A very good reason to have him neutered.

Also, the neighbor would be doing her female and your male a big favor by having her spayed.

    ****************ADDITIONAL************...

P.L.E.A.S.E...........don't breed your dog!!!  Leave the breeding to the professional breeders ONLY!!   They breed to improve the "STANDARD" in eyes, hips, heart, genetics, and not just to be breeding like you would be doing.

There are too many dogs in shelters sleeping on cold cement because they were not wanted.  You would not be considered a "Professional Breeder".  You would be considered a BYB (Back Yard Breeder).  We don't need any more BYB's.  Thank you.

  5. Yes, get your dog fixed.  That should solve the problem

Edit:  Even though you may want to breed your dog, think about the dogs in shelters and also the health risks if you do not get the dog fixed.

  6. There is no help for this problem. :)

    It will end soon though.

Keep your dog in the house more.

And remember a male has been known to jump from high buildings, over 8 foot fences and dig under deep tunnels to get to the lady of his choice.

  7. Very easy solution - get him neutered.

  8. throw him a trojan.

  9. let your dog into the neighbors yard and let them get freaky, then when your neighbors see this they will blame you, when that hapens say that there dog is driving your dog crazy and that theres nothing you can do because he keeps geting out of your yard. maybe they will fix their dog

  10. Neuter him.  That's the only thing that will help.  He will continue to whine and be crazy until she is no longer in heat.  And PLEASE don't let him play  with her for 30 days to make sure she is over her heat cycle.

  11. PLEASE DO NOT BREED! It is MUCH more time consuming and much more expensive than people think!!!

If you have a male, he MUST have his hips tested FIRST.

PLEASE neuter imr though. I wanted to breed my dog.....

I bought a cute healthy dog, from cute healthy parents, and she only lived for a year before having MAJOR genetic health problems. It was very sad, and I truly wish that NO ONE goes through the same thing I did. Both of her parents are still alive and "healthy" according to the breeder-- but they can still pass on genetic problems regardless. At only one year old, she became totally paralyzed in her hind legs, and could not control her bladder or bowels. It was so sudden, and so unexpected. She has hip dyspasia, knee problems, and neurological problems. I am very angry with her breeder.

  12. Well everyone has already told you exactly what you need to do. He needs to be fixed up.

You want to breed him? I wonder why?

Reputable breeders already have registered males for Studding.

  13. Unless you plan to show your dog, there is no reason to have him intact.

And unlesss you plan to show your dog, get him genetically tested and join breed clubs and find a breed mentor, get him fixed.

  14. PLEASE tell me you live in Canada.

  15. There is one way, neuter him. Otherwise you have a lifetime of listening to him scream and crying wanting to breed with the girls. If you don't neuter him, he'll get sick of crying and whining and he'll leave in search for some .. He'll start to mark in the house and around the yard, he'll decide that she belongs to him and will want to keep other males away from his territory.. He can start to become dog aggressive around other males, defending what he believes to be his.. Neutering is the only way out of this mess.

  16. You could take him into the vet and have him neutered.

Other than that, its the price you have to pay for having an unfixed animal on your hands.  Be glad its not a horse :)

Reconsider breeding your dog.  Not all pets make good breeding quality.  Unless you're completely prepared to pay for obedience and or agility, get some championship titled under his name, along with getting CERF and OFA cleared.  If you're not willing to do this, you'll be adding to more unwanted shelter animals.

  17. If you are not planning on breeding your dog get him neutered and this problem with go away.

  18. get them both fixed, problem solved

  19. Snip snip!

  20. is there any other way to occupie him? like playing catch, brining him for a walk while shes out doing her business, or possibly a friend that might be willing to watch him (bad thing with heats is it can last a month) she will stop bleeding for about a day (dont let them play this is when she is most furtile usually about day 15) depending also on age of girl and hat breed.

this might seem cruel but what about a spray bottle when hes trying to get to her

i highly doubt youll listen to what that one person said with just letting him have her but the owners would probably have a very hard time finding the pups new homes plus vet bills can be very costly if problems occure

best of luck and i hope this is helpful

I hate when people tell people to nueture or spay out of "convince" i figure its best to have it done if thier is a physical reason for your dog not the breed but your dog, i know theres a big difference but i wouldnt have my daughter (if i had one) have a tubal ligation so i didnt have to buy pads
