How to cancel Demand Draft when it is taken by paying cash & the person is not an A/c holder of that bank?

I have taken a DD from the bank by paying cash & I am not the A/c holder of that bank & now I want to cancel it.How can I cancel it. will bank charge heavily & is the procedure normal

go to the same ask with him he will do  the required things but they will deduct some amt. dont worry

Even though you are not an account holder with the bank you still can cancel it by producing the counter-foil/receipt (with the bank's seal on it).

The bank will charge a small fee though.

The procedure is normal.

Just be ready with some form of identification proof (some I'd card) in case some overly cautious bank clerk asks you to prove that you are indeed the person whose name is on the counter foil.
