Hi! I need some advice from experienced cat owners, I just adopt a kitten one mth old and had no idea how to care for it though I had a cat some yrs ago but he was pretty old already when i picked him from the streets never one so young, pls give me some advice, how many times shd i feed him in a day.. he seems to poo alot twice a day at times is this normal or i overfed him? shd i warm up his milk? it seems that he requires alot of attention, and he will keep whining unless i pick him up and cuddle him and he likes to sleep with me at night though he has his own basket.. my bf says im spoiling him? why does he keep l*****g me and biting my fingers does he think those are nipples? when he purrs does that mean his feeling good? shd i bathe him? will he get sick if i do?

  1. if hes 4 weeks old you dont have to feed him milk anymore he should be able to eat cat food. you can moisten some dry food with water and put it in the microwave or use canned food. he should eat 3 or 4 times a day kittens dont eat alot at a time so its important to make sure they get enough. theres no need to bathe a cat unless he doesnt clean himself or has gotten into something like motor oil etc. your not spoiling him. hes too young to leave his mother and feels safe being with you.

  2. you shouldn't need to bathe him, but if he gets a bit extra dirty just wet a washrag with warm water and rub him down, he'll feel like he's getting a bath from his momma. 4 weeks is a little young to be away from his littermates and that is why he wants to sleep with you, to hear your heart beat and your breathing and to share your warmth, it's not really spoiling and will help you in the long run cause he'll get used to sleeping while you sleep instead up being up causing a ruckus.

oh and crying is normal at this age, also wanting for his littermates. He'll grow out of it.

  3. yes mine poo 4 times a day. I dont think warm up it milk. Well you have to give the kitten attention thats all it wants. He was just playing. You can give him a bath. He is just happy that is why he is purring. Take him to the vet.

  4. Get a letter box. Feed the cat kitten food. If he is puring he loves you. You do not NEED to bathe him as long as you put flee stuff on him if he goes out side but I do about every 6 months because my cats go out side. No he should not get sick if you bathe him as long as you get all the soap off. Hope I helped a bit. Good luck.

  5. Feed multiple times a day (leave the food available) there tummy is so little and can't hold so much at one time.  Pooping multiple times a day is also normal especially when your 4 weeks old.  Milk is overrated after 4wks and gives them diarrhea anyhow.  Wet the dry food and they will like to l**k up the liquid from the soaked food.  Cuddling comforts and reassures at such a young age when normally a kitty receives it from the litter mates and mommy which you are both now.  I picked up a 4wk old in Dec and is now 9lbs and answers to the name of Veda.  I then picked up a 9wk old in June; and now they fight and cuddle like brothers.  They play and I don't have to as much.  I bathed him on the first day and the second because he was toxic (p**p all over).  Couldn't clean himself because he didn't reach.  Now I understand why mommy is always l*****g them cause they can't get there themselves.  Enjoy him/her while you can because sometimes they don't need to cuddle as much later.  Veda talks to me a lot but I need a translator.  They are too cute to deny.
