We had to have our 3 yr old son circumcised due to Paraphimosis and countless infections which after seeing 3 GP's and a urologyst decided to have him circumcised. Not that we regret it in anyway but i'm just wondering if anyone has idea's as to how to help him through the healing process. And any hints as to how to ease his pain without to many drugs.

TIA and please just helpful comments I don't need anyone raggin on me for doing what we thought was the best for our son when they don't know the whole story.

  1. Use children Tylenol for pain and a sting free antibiotic cream to help keep it free from germs.

  2. Call doctor and ask

  3. I'm not sure but call the doctor I'm sure he will have a bunch of idea's for you. Poor little guy. I hope he feels better soon. : )

  4. I got my son circumcised when he was around 6 months I believe. With pain I gave him some Infant Motrin, he could prolly take the toddler stuff, some Vaseline on the tip of his p***s to keep it moist and so it doesn't get eiratied from rubbing agent the diaper or underwear. My son was healed in about a week, your son shouldn't be too much longer then that.

  5. how come you didn't get him circumcised at birth?

    i would give him tylenol

feed him lots so he will sleep sleep helps heal many things

go to the park and play get his mind off of it

  6. I would find a different urologist.  It's normal for a congenital phimosis to persist until much later--closer to puberty.  And infections aren't caused by f******n.  What kinds of infections?  Have you been forcing his f******n back (bad idea)?

  7. Children's Tylenol or Motrin is safe and understandably necessary right now.  See if the doctor can prescribe a topical numbing ointment while it heals.  If he's already potty-trained, distracting him with songs might help when he has to urinate.  I'm sure that was tough.  I pray for a fast recovery and healing for your son.  By the way, I chose to have my son circumcised two days after he was born and everyone I know personally supports our decision and no one seems to have a problem with it except the people here on Yahoo Answers so don't worry about any rude comments from some people.

  8. I know you don't want to use a lot of medicine but I would give him Tylenol every 4 to 6 hours if he is irritable or complaining of pain. Apply vaseline to the site so it doesn't chaffe against his pull ups/clothing. It is hard at this age when they are circumcised but due to your son's condition it seems like you really didn't have a choice so don't feel bad because you had his best interest at heart. I hope your son feels better soon.

  9. you can use the neosporin that has a bit of pain reliever in it- that is what i used on my son when he was older and had to have it REDONE; i also alternated tylenol and motrin every four hours
