How to care for fish eggs and some parrot cilchilds fish egg quesitions?

I had 4 parrot cichilds but one died after this so now I only have 3. But I woke one morning and found in the fish tank, hundreds of eggs on rocks and other hard surfaces. Assuming that the parent fish will protect the eggs, I let them be and waited. But the next day, all of the eggs were gone except for a few, so I put up a fish net wall type thing to separate the eggs from the fishes but they all died out later. Shortly after, on of the fishes died and now there are only 3 parrot cilchilds. Can someone explain to me what happened? Are fish eggs rare because I have never seen this before? What precautions should I make in case there are eggs again? There was hundreds of eggs, do all of them hatch? Because I don't think I could fit hundreds of fish in that tank. Someone help, please!

  1. If you have blood parrots they tend be infertile so that may be what happened,if the eggs where infertile the parents probably ate them although in recent times I have heard of some breeding. If you get eggs again just leave them alone don't try to move them as that is quite likely to harm them.
