  1. you have to be sure that his head and back are straight on your arm then put hold withyour other arm his legs

  2. pick them up by putting your hands under their armpits, then lift until the baby is straddling your waist or hip on either your left or right side.  If the baby straddles your left side, keep your left arm around the child's waist, and hold the child's left leg under the thigh with your right hand.

Or, you can pick them up until they are right in front of you, facing you, straddling your waist with their legs, and keep both your hands under their bottom.

Just depends on which is more comfortable for you.  Holding them directly in front (instead of on one side of your hip or the other), is better for your back, but at 15, you are probably not worried about that.

  3. on your hip.  there are slings and carriers that are made for older babies.  try a hip hammock or a hotsling or an ergo.

  4. Well the baby should be walking by now. You should let the baby walk so they don't get spoiled!

  5. I'd carry him/her on my hip! =]

I have a 13 month old that walks around, but when I carry him, I always put him on my hip =]
