  1. I have chickens and the babies usually stay with the mother, but you could try using a length of chicken wire about 6 feet long and three feet high.

I'll try to explain what I would do.

Roll the piece of chicken wire up so that it keeps its shape when you unroll it.  Make it a little like a letter "G" but with one end extending past the other end.  It will be three feet high and curled around.  Put the food inside, cracked corn or starter meal is good.  If the young 'uns go around and get inside, you will be able to catch them easily if you close the exit so they can't get out.

I wouldn't try to chase them into the trap, just put the food in there on the ground and leave them, but watch from a distance and once they are in there you can go and get them.

Another thing you could do is watch at dusk to see where they are going at night time.  Once you know where they sleep, it is easy to catch them in the dark as they just sit still and you can pick them up.

If either of these things work, let me know by editing your question.

    Good Luck!

EDIT:  I just remembered my husband making me a gadget that he called a "Chicken Catcher".  He made it by straightening out a coat-hanger and bending the end to make a little hook that we would use to snag their leg.  It didn't hurt or anything, we could scoop them up quite nicely with that.  He even put a handle on it.  It wouldn't have to be a coat-hanger either, any piece of heavy wire would do, as long as it is about 3 - 4 feet long and can be bent to make the hook on the end.  The hook at the end is shaped like a letter "J".

Also a fishing net would work too, I have done that before although, I find it scares them, but it might work.

  2. There are a number of ways cuz i had chickens before, they died and. . . anyway you chase them and try to grab them or get a net of some sort and scoop them up or just call animal control if their not your chickens. Hope I helped!

  3. get a fish net and start running ^_^

or put a string on a cage or box (in the entrance or a stick )then a little trail leading to it and some seed in there and when they get in pull the sting and close it

  4. The best way to catch a chicken of any age is to wait til night.

At night when they go to roost (go to bed),they tend to be alot less active. . . almost like they are in a trance and they are alot easier to handle.

      Catch them at night.

  5. put seeds in hand and let it come to you and then grab it gently

  6. use an old shirt, throw it over them one by one. they get blinded, stall and you catch em...

    good luck!

  7. if their mother is there you should leave them to her,she took a long time to hatch them, she deserves the chance to raise them, and she can care for them best.and if you HAVE to catch them at lease bring her too....she worked hard for those babies...

  8. I raised chickens for a long time when i was younger, the best way to catch them without going through alot of trouble is to feed them and water them. Just do it in the same spot and stay in the area letting them get used to you. after a few days they wont care if your around just move alittle closer every time you feed them until you can just pick them up.

  9. Honestly, you are not going to be able to just grab them like the others said, they are just too fast. As soon as you start toward them they will run.

The only thing I have found effective and that won't hurt them is scooping them up in a fishnet. You know the ones with witht the handle and the net on the end?

  10. put down bird seed, then grab them gently

  11. Baseball bat!

  12. get an inexpensive net

  13. b-b gun and a good aim JK haha

corner it and then sort of through some seeds at it (gentally)

then wait and then snatch when i gets close to you
