How to catch a skink?

Question

I'm trying to catch a skink from outside my house. I've seen it several times around the same spot. Does anyone have any ideas/tips to catch it? Like a trap?

catching wildlife for pets is a very bad idea. i know you think you can take care of it, feed it and make it happy but fact is you cant. when in a very new environments (such as a cage in an are conditioned house) the animal will refuse food and become very stressed out and if bad enough will die. you also cant hold it because they are very fast and will get away from you.  if you want a pet lizard i would suggest going to your local petsmart and buying some type of lizard.

but PLEASE! dont catch that skink

Lay some cover on the ground for it to use then flip the cover over and make a fast grab.
