How to catch an onix in pokemon diamond

I really want a steelix but it would probably be impossible for me to catch a steelix with my current pokemon team.

Lol, well what i did in the originals was make a double-team between Bulbasaur (leech seed) and Butterfree (sleep powder).

Once you've leech seeded the enemy, just make sure it's asleep while it's health goes down, and the combination of sleep + low HP should make this 'steelix' an easy catch.

Otherwise, i haven't a clue what you're talking about.

find a pokemon thats attacks are ok against an onix (it must be no higher than 5 levels higher of the onix) then attack until its almost or at red. if you find a pokemon thats a lot of levels weaker train it with experiance share. hope i helped.

You can get an onix in pokemon diamond in Oreburgh mine, Iron mountain, Victory Road, Stark Mountain, Snowpoint Temple.
