try useing  a tiny hook with a  very small split shot, placed about a foot above the hook. then use one or two  kernals of yellow whole kernal corn.  just hook the corn  on the hook and let the stream or lake motion move them around.  its really good this time of year for any kind of trout or salmon.  the fish identifies the color and smell as roe. and eats it.

Iwould go with worms and the big one. Use half and if that don't work, use salmon eggs. O and the hook got to be small. Cast very light.
