How to catch rayquaza in pokemon ruby??

Do you have to beat the elite 4 before catching rayquaza or is there another way. Please explain to me step by step on where you can catch rayquaza without beating the elite 4.

no can do lol, not after you beat the elite 4, then go northeast(i think) of pacifidlog town to get to this cave. good luck with catching rayquaza.

u don't have2 beat the elite 4 just go back  2 SKY PILLAR 2 and catch rayquaza wiht the master ball

the only way without cheating is to beat the elite four. then go to where mirage island appears once in a while. then the mirage tower appears. climb the mirage tower. on the way up, cracks in the ground block your path. mach bike through the cracks. the very top is insanely hard, but rayquaza is at the end. it is level 70.

after you beat the elite four go to that palcific town and surf around it but not near the currents there should be a gap in between the rocks you can squeeze through and there should be a massive tower you have to get the mach bike and speed across the cracks without falling through at the top REYQUAZA is a lv 70 and a hard one to catch

yes after u beat the elite 4 go to pacific log town, surf around and you will find a cave im not sure wich side left or right ccuz i havnt played it in mad long, but i think so =]
