How to change a Region Code on DVD

Question

I Boght a Sony Vaio model VGN-CR231E in US, but I live in Brazil.

The problem is that when I tried to change the region code from 1 to 4, that's the code for Brazil, the system asks me about some media that I don't have. and I can't change the region.

Does somebody know how I can fix it ?
