  1. She will  need to take her marriage license and a photo Id to the social security office first (this will not cost anything). Once they issue her name change (new card) she can go to the dmv to change her name on her license (there will be a fee for this, check with the dmv) she should also contact her bank and credit cards.

(I too am in PA, I had to go the the SS office first before I could anything else.)

  2. Ok. Your sister will need her current ('maiden name') driver's liscense, the marriage liscense, cash to pay for a new liscense, and if she could bring birth certificate and social security card- it will help. They won't ask for it, but it's best to have it on hand. You have to get the new driver's liscense first b/c the social security office will need a photo ID (gov. issued) with your NEW last name on it. After you get your NEW driver's liscense, you can find your social security office in your area. (I suggest researching this the day before) and you will have to show them your new driver's liscense, marriage liscense, and your old social security card, maybe cash- just incase (i dont know how other states do this.. im in PA)  and they will issue you a name change and a new social security card. :)

  3. First place you go is the Social Security office - your entire identity is attached to your SS#.

  4. Actually the previous post got it backwards.  At least in the state of az.  The first thing you have to do is go to the social security office with the OFFICIAL copy of the marriage license.  Your sister will receive the license about two weeks after the wedding.  After the social security office there is a two day waiting period and then you go to the DMV to get the license.  After she gets the license, she can do the banks and everything else.  You might want to check for your state because it might be different in each state.  Good luck!  =)
