How to change gasket on refrigerator door with the freezer on top?

ok i've done this job at least 100 times so i know the ropes first the job is the same for the freezer or frig

open the door and roll back the gasket exposing the screws that hold the retainer bars these usually are 1/4 inch speed screws do yourself a favor and go to the hardware store and get a 1/4 inch speed wrench it makes the job much easier now that you have exposed the screws loosen each one but don't remove them! with the screws loose pull outwards on the gasket till it's bead comes out from under the retainers

after bathing the gasket for a few minutes in hot water to soften it hold it in place and working from 1 point push the rounded bead in behind the raised lip of the brackets as you work your way around the door snug every second or third s***w to keep the gasket in place, you may find you need to use a flat bladed screwdriver to push the bead in place especially around the corners when the gasket bead is completely in place swing the door to the closed position if it appears to be warped ,tight at the top and open at the bottom or vis-a versa because the screws are only snug you can twist on the door and get the gasket face to line up on top and bottom, when it looks even gently open the door and tighten down the screws checking it's fit after every few screws once it's tight close the door, if the magnetic seal is not contacting the frame in a place or two get a hairdrier and on high, heat the gasket till it softens up enough to expand to the frame when you have the gasket installed use duct tape to hold the door shut tight fo a day or so and it will seat itself

Peel back the gasket and along the edge are tiny screws, you need to take them out and clean the door well before you put on the new one,tape newspaper over the opening of the freezer to keep warm air from entering and make sure you have a good game plan, have somebody time you and who ever is closest to how long it takes wins a beer from the looser.
