How to change picture formats?

I just bought a brand new camera, and it seems that I can't load some of the pictures because they are in a certain format. Unfortunately I cant' even open them to save them as a different file.. it's really odd. Is there a way to change it on the camera.. I have a canon EOS rebel xti

Can't load some of the pics??? Load into the camera? Or upload to your computer? It shoots Raw and Jpeg. What app are you using? Unless your technology is older than a couple of years, you shouldn't have any trouble.

(Oh, Canon. Their Raw is propietary like Nion's NEF, isn't it?)

What setting? Have you read the manual? Most likely you may have fiddled with the settings, and may have set it to RAW mode.

What operating system are you using? And what version.
