  1. Some 24 volt systems use 3 8V batteries.  A 24 volt charger is your best bet.

  2. You will have to have 2 batteries to make 24.v system. You will have to charge one at a time.

  3. As long as the batteries are in phase one charger should do them both.  On marine batteries it is recommended they be removed from the boat for proper charging.

  4. Most boats that come wired for 24 volt trolling motors have a switch with 3 selections

    12V

    24V

    Charge

If no switch disconnect the cable between the negative post & the positive post of the two batteries.

  5. You have several choices.  One being, Walmart sells a 12/24 Volt charger.  I believe they run about $40.  Next, you might buy a two bank charger.  They mount right in the boat. and hook right to each battery.  They are very handy.  When your done, just plug in the charger.  They shut off when fully charged.  I run a 36 Volt system, and love it.  I have a three bank charger.  My fourth battery,(house battery), is charged by the motor.  Last. you can put the 12V charger on one 12V battery's without unhooking anything, and when full, do the other.  It takes longer, but works.  I have never heard of removing the battery's from the boat.  It would be a big job to do that on my bass boat.  Pending on how much money you want to spend, any of these will work.  Happy boating, my favorite pastime
