How to check for woodworm?

Hi ive just discovered woodworm in 1 room but in october i replaced all of the laminate flooring does this mean i have to lift it all to check to make sure it isnt anywer else??? the woodworm is active!

  1. I would check a metre or so beyond the affected area and saturate that whole area with Cuprinol 5 star treatment.  It is solvent based, it stinks, but it soaks in well and last for years.  Just leave your windows open for a day or two before putting the laminate flooring back down aswell.


  2. I would if I were you. You don't have to take it all up. As long as you can lift a floorboard to get a lance into the void you should be able spray under there with a garden pressure sprayer although the wood does have to be pretty thoroughly treated/wetted. Ask at builders merchants, good hardware store, try to find a treatment that doesn't stink the house out for days. Some woodworm treatments are water based nowadays, less toxic. Have to be careful if upstairs, to avoid over doing it and soaking/staining ceiling below. Ok downstairs.
