  1. There is a certification tracking system web site at www.certmanager.net where certified individuals can login to set up their own profile and options.

The validation ID can be set to expire on certain date. Certified individual are free to set the level of privacy on their certification status information to the general public. Individual can set-up a certification validation ID with a URL link and email it to certain parties as a proof of certification.

After fulfilling all the certification requirements, in 1-3 weeks time, a card and a certificate (US Letter size) will be sent to the certified individual. The card and certificate will state that they had obtained their CCNA or CCNP etc and the exact expiry date of the certification. The certificate has a verification ID. A potential employer can type in the verification ID into www.cisco.com/go/verifycertificate to verify the authenticity of the certificate.

  2. You can't do a look-up on them without knowing their cert number and then they have to authorize you to look up their information through Cisco's website.
