I am planning to rent a house and want to protect myself from renting a foreclosed house and being thrown on the street after a couple of months and loosing my deposit. Are there any sites that i can check that property, and what are my rights if that situation does occur?

  1. Good for you.  Have you read all those questions from people who rented and got evicted by the foreclosure?

You have 2 stops.  If you know the correct spelling of the owner of the house, go to the County Recorder's Office.  They are friendly.  You look up their name and see if there is a foreclosure.

Otherwise, you take the property address to the County Assessor's Office.  They will give you the owner's name.  Then go to Recorder's.  Some are online so you can do it at home. /

  2. I would love to know what you find out.  We're actually in this situation.  Not fun !!
