How to check up British companies for legality?

my friend has just received a job offer from the following company:

unit 4,Brighton Road.

Lowfeild Heath.

West Sussex

U.K.

Fax:[phone].

We are not currently in the UK so we wonder how to check if this company is legal and not a fraud...

Check that the company is registered with companies house.

if legitimate then it should be there. Try the below links

Look at the message board on their web site.  I think that answers your question.

Apart from that, phone numbers which begin 04470....  are mobile (cell) phones.  No legitimate company would use a number like that.
